Young people start college or tech school with the best of intentions and perhaps money they have saved and a scholarship or two.  The first year goes well, but what about the second, third or fourth year?  Is the money still there?  Life can get in the way with family issues, a job loss or health issues.  What happens to the money to stay in college?

The Village West Rotary wants to help!  For the fifth year we are offering six $1,000 scholarships through our funding raising and Rotary District 5710 grant funds.  Three of the $1,000 scholarships will go to full-time existing college or tech school students. These scholarships are paid in January for the winter session.  The other three $1,000 scholarships will go to three high school seniors intending to be full-time students in the Fall of 2020 at a college or tech school.

Applications are now available!  Applicants must be a graduate or current senior of a Wyandotte County public or private school.  The Application is downloadable on this website and must be completed and returned along a 300 word essay on how this scholarship will make a difference to you this year and a letter of recommendation from a former instructor, employer, social service agency applicant has volunteered with by Midnight, December 25, 2019.  Click here for high school senior application.  Click here for current full-time college/tech school students.
